The Effect of Quenching Media on the Hardness of Low Carbon Steel

Steels with desired properties are essential and always required by many industries. This paper highlights some heat treatment operations various cooling media to achieve different rapid rates. was carried out heating samples of low carbon steel a specific temperature then them rapidly in 8 quenching order obtain microstructure steel. These heat-treated were tested mechanically using the Brinell hardness test (BH). The results show that mediums affect mechanical hence microstructures steels effect varies depending on types quanchants employed.
